EMELIA SYMINGTON-FEDY is a theatre creator, radio broadcaster and best-selling author. She is the founding artistic director of The Chop theatre and tours their new works to global acclaim. A lead writer on over twenty-five theatre productions, in both performance and writing, Emelia explores contemporary dark matters using comedy as her weapon of choice. In 2023 ‘Skid Dogs’ was published, Emelia's memoir about girl joy amidst teenage rape culture, set in the 1990’s (Douglas and McIntyre) which spent 16 weeks on the BC Bestseller list, was one of CBC’s best nonfiction of 2024, and is nominated for the 2024 Yukon and BC Best Book Award.

Emelia has been a guest lecturer at UBC and Simon Fraser University. She is a graduate of Studio 58, The SFU Writer’s Studio, and SFU’s Creative Writing Graduate Program. She leads international retreats and workshops on creativity. Emelia has two kids, a partner and lots of friends. She lives in the woods.
